Joseph Sevier is an artist well known for his flower paintings and portraits. Joseph's works are influenced by a love of early Renaissance art and mediaeval tapestries. In true tapestry fashion his canvases often cover entire walls, And like a 16th century altarpiece, the combination of gold leaf and oil paint give many of his paintings their distinctive look. He sometimes likes to say, "If you were to water a flower filled 'milles fleurs' tapestry and see it spring suddenly into life, you would be looking at one of my paintings". |
